Located in the heart of downtown Coral Gables, the city’s new home for police and fire response functions brings a new Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and sustainable, efficient systems.
The five-story, 120,000 GSF facility houses a firehouse, police headquarters, dispatch and 911 functions, an enclosed multi-level 70,000 GSF parking garage, and other spaces. The project addressed stringent requirements for resiliency and uninterrupted operation during times of public emergency.
Achieving LEED BD+C: New Construction Silver Certification on October 15, 2021, the new facility incorporates many advanced systems and energy-efficient features while integrating with the existing architectural vernacular of Coral Gables. EXP’s fundamental and enhanced commissioning services provided energy-efficient design options to save cost and optimize the final selection of systems and equipment.
