As the largest single infrastructure construction project undertaken by the City of Fredericton in many years, the new E. John Bliss Water Treatment Plant supports long-term growth and demand for high quality drinking water.
Design of the building itself melds expertly with the local historic area while “source to tap” concepts enhance the processes and instrumentation within.
Drawing water from three wells in the Queen’s Square area, the plant uses oxidation and pressure filtration technology with pH adjustment. Innovative use of reclaimed process water enabled the City to eliminate budgeting for a costly fourth production well.
