Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec Pierre Lassonde Pavilion

harmonizing systems in a vibrant facility

Located in the historic Battlefields Park area of Québec City, known as the Plains of Abraham, the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec houses a large collection of art and other works from around Québec.

The new Pierre Lassonde Pavilion increases the museum’s exhibit and collection capacity, while bringing a sustainable new facility to historic Québec City.

Adjoining existing buildings on the Plains of Abraham, the new pavilion was designed with energy efficiency and sustainable development in mind. As a “smart” building, the pavilion features installation of sustainable systems that minimize impacts on the local and global environment.

This large-scale project addressed the building’s complex architecture by maintaining clean interior spaces while integrating lighting, security systems and telecommunications. Systems were designed to harmonize with the existing architecture and blend into the décor to preserve the aesthetic of each exhibition room.
