For a tenth year in a row, many of our colleagues slipped on their EXP cycling jerseys for the 48-HOUR RIDE which took place last September 22, 23 and 24. Thirteen “EXP ça roule” teams, all made up of six employees from our different Quebec offices, took turns riding their bikes, day and night, to raise money for the Fondation Make-A-Wish | Rêves d’enfants Canada. We are proud to announce that they raised a record amount of $62,855 for the foundation, some $20,000 more than last year. The event raised an overall amount of $3,063,497 for the foundation, an amount that will allow many sick children to make their wish come true.
“Participating in this challenge makes us realize just how important it is for a sick child and their family to see their wish come true. The 48-HOUR RIDE was marked by cheerfulness, motivation and resilience, just as it was an opportunity to strengthen relationships between colleagues. I want to highlight the exceptional and visible presence of the EXP riders on the track, day and night. We are already planning the 2024 edition and we hope to have some twenty teams participating in the event,” says Hervé Rémy, senior vice president of our Quebec Energy sector, who has been participating in the challenge and volunteering his time to coordinate the “EXP ça roule” teams since 2013.
This year again, our colleague Raphaël, living with Friedreich’s ataxia, was among the EXP riders. His enthusiasm and resilience motivated the teams throughout the challenge.
Congratulations to all EXP cyclists who rode over 15,000 km (9,320 miles) during this event and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made a donation.
See you all next year!
