It was a night of high honors in New York City at the 2019 Interior Design’s Best of the Year Awards. The night pays tribute to the most significant work of the year and recognizes designers, architects and manufacturers from around the globe – no small feat for industry professionals already devoted to excellence. Our design for CTA 95th Street Terminal was in the running for Best of the Year award – transportation category.
EXP architects, Thomas Hoepf, Mindy Viamontes, Melina De Oliveira and Jasenko Badic modestly waited for our category to be announced. When that moment arrived, CTA 95th Street Terminal took home Interior Design’s transportation Best of the Year Award. A win for EXP, the City of Chicago and those who feel the rumbling under their feet at the station.
Our architects will tell you that the design for CTA 95th Street Terminal was deliberate, systematic and meaningful for Chicago’s South Side. It drew from a city that demands connectivity and thrives with transit. For the rest of the evening, our experts enjoyed the big win and vowed to continue the longstanding mission of all transit-focused architects at EXP – to deliver projects that inspire, compel and propel cities towards excellence.
Congratulations, team.
