Ports are gateways to countries, cities and communities, for both merchandise and people. We could say the same about the recently awarded project with PortsToronto: an entry way to a new client and the opportunity to combine our expertise in ports and airports! We are pleased to announce that the infrastructure team in Central Ontario was recently awarded a Vendor of Record (VOR) for Engineering Consulting Services three years contract with PortsToronto, for which EXP will be providing civil and site services.
PortsToronto is a government business enterprise that owns and operates the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, which welcomes more than two million passengers each year; the Outer Harbour Marina, one of Canada’s largest freshwater marinas; and Marine Terminal 52, which provides marine transportation, distribution, storage and container services to businesses at the Port of Toronto.
As part of the VOR for engineering consulting services, EXP will be providing civil and site engineering services, including services for stormwater management, water and sanitary sewer, hydrogeological and geotechnical support, phase I and II environmental site assessments, structural, mechanical, electrical and pumping design, contract administration, construction inspection and land surveying.
“PortsToronto is a vibrant area with significant intensification opportunities. EXP’s previous experience in this area gives us a unique understanding of the infrastructure capacity challenges,” said Chris Sandink, vice president of EXP’s Central Ontario Infrastructure group. “We have considerable staff resources and specialties, allowing us to draw on resources throughout North America, and have the ability to deliver high quality services to this new client and open the door to more opportunities.”
Please join us in congratulating the Infrastructure team for this big win and opportunity to build a lasting and mutually beneficial relationship with a new major client!
