EXP’s Wisconsin team has been busy since the opening of their new Appleton office in September 2020. The team’s newest project, led by Senior Project Manager Matthew Geurts, PE entails a half mile reconstruction of County Highway D in the Village of Oak Field, Wisconsin. EXP is tasked with contract administration, construction inspection of storm sewer, excavation, curb and gutter, asphalt pavement, ADA compliant sidewalks and restoration to ensure construction meets the plans and specifications. The project is in collaboration with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and EXP staff are the on-site Owner’s Representative. The construction will take approximately six months and will alleviate flooding in the area to create safer roadway conditions and protect residential properties.
The initial project timeline included construction into the fall and the start of the school year. With community input and conversations with residents, the team was able to work with the contractor to adjust construction dates to mitigate the impact on students. Our project leader was able to adjust the construction staging plan and turn the large-scale phased construction project into a single stage to accommodate resident feedback and to keep the sidewalks safer when school resumes. The community has been involved in many aspects of the project, making for a more seamless process and one that will result in great upgrades to the Village of Oakfield.
