To meet the demands of an evolving healthcare landscape, EXP delivers innovative healthcare solutions and services while keeping one goal consistent: to support a healing environment for patients, families, staff and the community. With extensive expertise in alternative service delivery models, EXP continues to build its portfolio of healthcare projects, recently through providing services for West Park Healthcare Centre.
The 730,00 SF, 314-bed replacement hospital centers on delivering inpatient, outpatient and outreach services to meet Ontario’s future healthcare needs. Working with Infrastructure Ontario, West Park Healthcare Centre and partners, EXP provided planning, design and compliance (PDC) consulting services on structural, mechanical, electrical, technology design (ICAT, AV and security), energy modeling, building science and civil engineering for this design, build finance and maintain (DBFM) project.
The campus-wide upgrade project includes the construction of a new main tower and parking areas, central utility plants, the demolition of the existing main building, as well as the provision of service links to the existing long-term care facility. West Park specializes in complex continuing care, rehabilitation and community health services. “This is an important project for the region and we’re proud to have worked alongside talented partners and the community,” said EXP Mechanical Principal Behram Dubash.
EXP is currently involved with monitoring the construction progress, with the new hospital scheduled to open for patients in 2023.
