EXP recently announced the promotion of Aziz Sene, P.Eng., to senior vice president of mining. Previously appointed to globally lead EXP’s mining sector in 2021, Aziz has been instrumental in strengthening EXP’s position in the industry. In his new role, he will continue this momentum and expand on EXP’s multi-disciplinary approach to complex mining and metallurgical projects.
Aziz and his growing team have worked alongside clients to deliver innovative engineering and consultancy services for all stages of the mining and metallurgical lifecycle. With a strong emphasis on the enhancement of safety, quality, sustainability, profitability and inclusivity, EXP was recently selected as one of the primary consultants for Vale’s Overflow Engineering contract, the first time Vale has issued Canada-wide agreements across the majority of its sites, structured with primary and secondary consultants.

Aziz holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical and automation engineering from Laval University in Quebec, Canada. He is a registered professional engineer in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec. Throughout his nearly 20-year career, Aziz has managed and led high-performing and technical teams using his extensive knowledge of technologies used in open pit and underground mining and mineral processing to successfully deliver challenging projects.
