EXP receives American Architecture Awards from The Chicago Atheneum for two Chicago transit projects

December 19, 2024

EXP was recently recognized with two American Architecture Awards from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design alongside The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban studies. The two awards recognize EXP’s work on CTA’s 95th/Dan Ryan Terminal Station and Washington/Wabash Elevated Station. The American Architecture Awards are the oldest and largest awards in architecture and recognize significant building design, landscape architecture and urban planning projects.

Now in its 30th annual season, these awards acknowledge designs that improve the built environment and address issues like climate change, housing shortages and urban regeneration. Both awarded CTA stations reflect a commitment to creating meaningful spaces for our communities through design excellence.

“The American Architecture Awards are particularly significant as they recognize the finest architectural achievements worldwide, placing our work among leading international projects. The two recognized designs add to our portfolio of over 25 design excellence awards for our work on Chicago transit projects, reflecting our long-standing commitment to excellence in our work with CTA and CDOT,” said Senior Vice President, Global Design Director, Tom Hoepf, FAIA.

The recognized projects are part of EXP’s growing transit expertise, which emphasizes design, innovation and community. While each project has its own unique approach, together they showcase how architecture can transform everyday spaces. We’re proud to work on projects that enhance public infrastructure through thoughtful design.
