EXP has been selected by the Illinois Capital Development Board (CDB) as the architecture/engineer for a new $80 million central computing facility, to be located in Springfield, IL. The LEED Silver data center facility, funded through the Rebuild Illinois capital plan, will provide the Department of Innovation & Technology with modernized and evolving data infrastructure to meet the State’s needs.
“EXP has robust experience in designing and constructing complex, state-of-the-art data centers,” shares Senior Project Manager, Adam Ahrens, who is leading EXP’s involvement on the project. “EXP will oversee the design and construction of the new energy efficient and reliable data facility to replace their existing computing facility.”
CDB Executive Director, Jim Underwood said “The Capital Development Board looks forward to working with EXP for their experience and expertise with similar building type and use.”
