EXP has forged a special relationship with Laos.

For months, a dedicated group of engineers have been involved in a professional and educational exchange to spur development and help Laos achieve its economic potential through accessibility to reliable utilities and infrastructure.

A few days ago, EXP engineer Mathieu Pravongviengkham, was on hand to represent EXP at the official signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the country’s Department of Planning and Cooperation, Ministry of Energy and Mines.

“Being a Laotian and an expert in the field, together with our international experts,” prefaces Mathieu. “I sincerely believe that we will be able to help Laos acquire all the necessary skills by partnering with EDL, EDL-GEN and others in Laos.”

This agreement will allow EXP to be a long-term partner and provider of engineering services for the Ministry. Projects to be done will include technical planning of Laos’ power network, studying the current energy system, including connections with neighboring countries, and adoption of alternative sources of energy to add capacity to domestic supply. The agreement also emphasizes technical assistance and training for personnel of the Ministry of Energy and Mines.

“This commitment allows us to deeply understand the power infrastructure needs of an emerging nation in an important area of growth for the company,” explains Ivan Dvorak, CEO of EXP. “We will work to transfer our knowledge so that Laos will be able to support and maintain their growth and future demands, opening doors to other opportunities in the region.”
