Last week, EXP team members attended the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Metropolitan Washington (MW) Engineering Excellence Awards Gala and took home two awards. Team members from the Mid-Atlantic group were joined by fellow industry peers to recognize the award-winning projects of 2021 and look forward to future projects. The ACEC/MW Engineering Excellence Awards recognize projects within the engineering industry that demonstrate a high degree of achievement, value and ingenuity.
At the gala, EXP was recognized alongside District Department of Transportation (DDOT) and Fort Myer Construction Corporation for winning a Merit Award for the Parkside Pedestrian Bridge Project. In addition to the Merit Award, EXP also took home the People’s Choice Award for the night, which was voted on by industry peers at the event. The Parkside Pedestrian Bridge Project spans across the DC-295 Freeway and railroad tracks to provide safe pedestrian travel between the Mayfair neighborhood, Parkside development and a local Metrorail station. EXP is proud to be recognized for projects that contribute to safer cities through meaningful transportation projects.
“Our team feels very honored for these two important recognitions by ACEC and our industry peers. As a growing team in the Mid-Atlantic region, we believe in setting a standard for excellence in the region. Thank you to our partners and clients, as well as our team members who are working on transportation projects to create a safer region,” said EXP’s Director / State and Federal Programs Jenny Bowers.
Congratulations to EXP’s Mid-Atlantic team, DDOT and Fort Myer Construction Corporation on their awards.
