We are pleased to announce that our infrastructure teams will work on Phase 2 of the Sainte-Catherine Street West project, which will consist of the redevelopment of a 1.6 km stretch of the street, between Peel Street and Atwater Avenue.
The City of Montreal has selected WSP to lead the project with EXP acting as subcontractor. Leveraging their expertise in engineering, urban development and sustainable mobility, the two engineering firms will collaborate to complete preliminary studies, prepare plans and specifications, provide technical assistance and supervision during construction. This major redevelopment project will allow for the revitalization of the area’s iconic commercial street through the addition of welcoming and versatile spaces.
The selected design includes areas where pedestrians can relax and connect, added urban furniture, green islands, increased space for pedestrians and lighting systems to create a unique atmosphere at night. Phase 2 redevelopment will build on design components implemented in previous phases, ensuring continuity and consistency with work completed on the street during the first phase of the project.
“The complexity of projects of this magnitude is a challenge in itself, but the experienced EXP and WSP teams working on the project will bring the necessary skills to complete the work and provide solutions to minimize impacts on businesses and users,” said EXP Senior Director of Infrastructure Gabriel Soufo.
