EXP is proud to share that Paul J. Pushman, Manager – Façade Engineering, has been recognized with the Ontario Building Envelope Council’s (OBEC) prestigious Anthony A. Woods Award, also known as The Beckie. The Beckie is given bi-annually to individuals recognized for their significant lifetime contributions to the practice of building science and building envelope.
Paul joins a distinguished group of 29 individuals who have been recognized with The Beckie Award since 1989. He has over 37 years of experience and is respected among industry peers for his depth of core building science knowledge and breadth of experience with various building envelope assemblies and components.
Through his in-depth knowledge of the underlying principles, behavior and control of elements, material compositions and properties and governing regulations, Paul delivered or was actively involved in several challenging building envelope projects throughout Ontario including Queen’s University Jean Royce Residence – Recladding and Window Replacement, Maple Leaf Gardens – Roof Replacement and 95 Wellington Street West – Repair of Original Stone Cladding and Replacement of Stone Cladding. His ability to identify potential issues at fundamental levels allows him to find and deliver innovative and practical solutions.
“Throughout Paul’s career, he has been an important technical resource and inspiration for the newer generation of building science professionals. We are incredibly proud of Paul’s recent recognition and feel honored to celebrate this significant achievement with him,” said Director of Building Science Sathya Ramachandran.
Paul is an active participant with the Ontario Building Envelope Council and Building Science Specialist Board and is steadfast in his commitment to upholding building science practices in the construction industry.
Paul will be recognized for his achievement during OBEC’s January 15, 2025, dinner meeting.
