Houston, TX, September 29, 2020 – EXP, a leader in Oil, Gas + Chemicals, was selected by Mitsubishi Chemical Engineering Corporation (MEC) to provide Front End Engineering Design services (FEED) to expand a confidential client’s tank capacity in the United States Gulf Coast (USGC).
The FEED services will commence immediately with the ‘virtually integrated MEC/EXP team’ mobilizing to start initial civil, mechanical, electrical and fire protection infrastructure assessments. EXP project manager, Stephen Mefford, will lead the team as the primary point of contact to MECs team in Tokyo, Japan.
Mitsubishi Chemical Engineering’s project manager, Tomofumi “Tom” Koyama, expressed excitement to again work with EXP for this brownfield expansion project. Stephen echoed this sentiment, noting, “MEC is a valued client that services a wide variety of industries throughout the US and the international community. We gain valuable experience working with the talented team at MEC and, as a global company, are introduced to new technologies, as well as clients.”
EXP will complete the FEED services in Q42020, with a Class II TIC (Total Installed Costs) estimate and will continue to support MEC with the execution of the detailed design and construction execution of the project which will begin in Q2 2021.
