EXP is pleased to announce that Nabil Benwahoud has joined the firm as Vice President of Energy Operations. In this newly established role, Nabil will be responsible for growing EXP’s energy presence throughout the DC, Maryland and Virginia region, focusing on the safe and reliable transmission and distribution of clean energy. Nabil will also utilize his experience to support EXP’s ongoing international operations in the Middle East and North Africa.
Nabil is based in EXP’s Washington, DC Mid-Atlantic office in the NoMa neighborhood. He joins EXP from Washington Gas, where he served as a senior energy leader. Nabil brings over 20 years of experience including engineering and design, construction and maintenance of power distribution facilities, restoration efforts and advanced metering infrastructure deployments. His oversight significantly improved the reliability and resiliency of distribution systems across several states including the DC metro area. Throughout his roles at Washington Gas, Exelon and Duke Energy, Nabil played a critical role in leading initiatives to improve safety, reliability, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction of energy services.

Nabil holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of South Florida and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tampa. In addition, he completed the Duke Energy Strategic Leadership Program at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
