EXP is proud to announce the promotion of Rachael Powell to vice president of environment and regulatory, energy in Canada. With 19+ years of industry experience, Rachael has played a significant role in building new markets, developing business, cultivating long-term client relationships and leading key proposals for EXP.
Rachael joined EXP in 2019 as director of environmental and regulatory services, energy in Canada, and immediately began to manage and deliver a wide range of complex, regulatory and environmental projects. Her work includes overseeing environmental regulatory applications for first-of-its-kind alternative energy projects, including the proposed Future Energy Park, a $1 billion combined bioethanol and renewable natural gas facility located in Western Canada.
Rachael has also led the development of Indigenous Regulatory Involvement training programs, developed in conjunction with an Indigenous business partner for the Enbridge Line 3 Indigenous Monitoring and Advisory Committee. The program is a unique collaboration with the Canada Energy Regulator. She is also EXP’s environmental lead for the Metrolinx Eglinton Crosstown West Extension Project in Toronto.
“Rachael is instrumental in EXP’s growth and stability in the highly competitive environmental market. Rachael’s technical expertise and relationships with energy regulators, Indigenous communities and clients positions EXP to deliver solutions in the best interest of the environment and our clients, and we congratulate her on this well-deserved promotion,” says Vice President, Energy Services Richard Gale.
Rachael holds a master’s degree in environmental design from the University of Calgary and is a certified Environmental Professional and Project Management Professional. She was a finalist for the 2022 Environmental Careers Organization of Canada Environmental Professional Impact Award.
We look forward to Rachael’s continued success at EXP.
