Last month, our experts attended Greenbuild, the world’s largest event dedicated to green building. Over four days, thousands of sustainability professionals convened at Georgia’s World Congress Center to network, view the latest products and technologies and hear speeches from sustainability visionaries, USGBC president, Mahesh Ramanujam and former President, Barack Obama.
Among the crowd of solution-seekers was principal, director of commissioning and sustainability, Amy Pastor. Building a culture of sustainable buildings is what Amy runs on. Deeply rooted in bold green initiatives, Amy is pursuing energy performance solutions to integrate into existing and new buildings.
After attending the event, Amy shared, “We are shifting away from what is expected for buildings, design, LEED qualifications and data-driven solutions. The industry saw a drastic improvement with LEED v4.1, but we’re not where we need to be just yet. We can raise the bar higher. To do that, we are looking at all major players to streamline and integrate a unified approach to reduce impacts, address issues posed by climate change and deliver greener buildings solutions. This is not an easy job, but we’re committed to going the extra mile and doing our part for our clients and a healthier future.”
She continued, “Greenbuild is always a great opportunity to share what’s new and what’s changing with experts and transfer knowledge to my teams at EXP.” Amy is an active member of the US Green Building Council on local and national levels and serves as a valuable contributor to the implementation of positive changes for LEED regulations.
After getting back into her routine after Greenbuild, we asked Amy what her green motto is. She replied, “Actions are stronger than words.” To back it up, Amy has proven herself as an early riser to seek a greener world. Stay tuned for what’s to come from Amy!
