Syed Raza has joined EXP’s transportation team as vice president in San Bernardino, California. Syed comes to EXP with over 38 years of transportation experience, specializing in traffic engineering and program and project management. With a robust understanding of Southern California’s transportation needs, Syed will continue his work of furthering SoCal’s transportation initiatives.
“Syed is a proven leader in California’s transportation market,” says Khalil Saba, senior vice president of transportation in Southern California. “His experience on progressively complex and sophisticated transportation projects will further our ability to deliver innovative solutions to the region.”
Syed joins EXP from Caltrans, where he worked for 29 years in senior positions with increasing responsibility in areas of design, construction, traffic engineering and project management. In his most recent role as deputy district director for program project management at Caltrans District 8, Syed was vital in developing strong internal and external relationships with stakeholders, managing hundreds of project portfolios and maintaining oversight over District 8’s capital program valued over $15 billion. His transportation and leadership experience will continue to foster successful relationships and result in project success.

Syed is a registered civil engineer in the state of California and graduated with his bachelor of science in civil engineering from the NED University of Engineering and Technology in Pakistan, as well as holds his master of science in civil engineering from Texas A&M University.
