Two EXP engineers were among those honored at the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec’s Soirée de l’excellence en génie. In the centennial edition of the event, EXP’s Julie Beauséjour (Vice-President, International at our Montreal office) and Gilbert Nkurunziza (engineer in our Quebec Earth and Environment group at our Sherbrooke laboratory) garnered three awards between them!
Julie was recognized for her contributions to the Vietnam water engineering program: the Honoris Genius Award for International Impact and the Members’ Favourite Project Award. EXP’s program in Vietnam has helped complete 13 drinking water supply and wastewater treatment projects. Every day, these projects enable over two million people to receive treated drinking water, thanks to an innovative and sustainable water treatment system.
Gilbert was honored for his youth outreach work. He received the President’s Award for Outstanding Service to the OIQ. Gilbert is president of the OIQ Estrie Regional Committee and an exceptional ambassador for the profession. He works with young people aged 12 to 18 in Estrie, and has been active in the OIQ’s regional bodies for over 10 years.
The OIQ’s Soirée de l’excellence en génie is a celebration that showcases outstanding Quebec engineers for their engineering brilliance, their excellence in the profession, and their leadership as inspirational role models for their peers and the public.
A round of applause for all the award recipients and nominees at the 2020 Soirée de l’excellence en génie!
