Located within the Abitibi gold belt, west of the Ontario-Quebec border, Detour Lake mine was reopened after a 14-year break in mining activities. With a potential production capacity of approximately 650,000 ounces of gold per year, the site’s total gold reserves are estimated at 15.6 million ounces over 21 years.
To reactivate the mine and enable the extraction process, EXP initiated modifications to the mine and underground galleries, including a new pumping station and process efficiencies – all in compliance with environmental standards and best practices.
