The new Outremont site is a major urban rehabilitation project to transform a railyard into a new neighborhood containing the Université de Montréal campus.
The new campus incorporates 1,600 meters of new streets with underground infrastructure and surface structures, and 1,200 metres of new raised bike lanes. Design and construction-phase services have brought environmental soil remediation for the entire 20-hectare site, as well as the planning of a new urban boulevard, a prestigious public space and a neighbourhood park.
With integrated low impact development and stormwater management, the project site is expected to achieve LEED-ND certified.
