EXP was recently selected as prime on the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 6 resurfacing, restoration and rehabilitation (RRR) design project! It will span from SR 817/NW 27th Avenue for Burlington Street to NW 165 Terrace. This key project plays a role in meeting FDOT’s goals to improve road surfacing and sidewalk lifespan in Miami. EXP will be working closely with FDOT and the public to ensure consistent and quality results to this critical project.
EXP’s team was selected to bring solutions, expertise and experience to this exciting transportation project. “With the current pandemic, FDOT has been advertising less projects, so the competition has been fierce. EXP was chosen over firms that have been providing design services for FDOT District 6 for a long time. This shows that our technical expertise and knowledge of their expectations and processes are second to none,” Transportation Design Core Business Manager, Jorge Lopez shared. Some of the major elements that EXP will assist with are bridge railing replacement, access management, lighting analysis, and FAA coordination. The project will bring improvements to safety and ADA accessibility, sidewalks and pedestrian ramps through resurfacing, restoration, and rehabilitation.
The team, led by Jorge, is excited to provide transportation solutions for Florida and to continue to meet FDOT and EXP’s transportation goals to better serve the public. Jorge shared, “This project win makes EXP more recognizable in the South Florida design market and creates opportunities to team up with other firms to win projects as prime or a subconsultant.”
